Cafe la Ruche: Georgetown

Hello again everyone, hope you all have had a wonderful week, I know I did!

Today I watched the movie Unknown, with Liam Neeson, immediately followed by brunch at the loveliest little cafe: Cafe la Ruche!

What's on the menu today:

-French Toast (Pain Perdu)
-Banana Chocolate Tart

Let us start with an old brunch favourite: French Toast.  This French Toast takes the form of four pieces of sliced baguette, served on a plate alongside a maple syrup dispenser.  What can I say, the French toast was quite delicious, and I never have run into one that I don't like.  My opinion of this meal is 5 stars.

And for dessert, I had a Banana Chocolate Tart.  Now, when I ordered this, I expected something along the lines of a small tart, you know, kind of shaped like a little warm-up in the microwave quiche, but no, it was a colossal monument to French pastry.  Stacked at least 10 thin layers high of filo dough, it rose quite a fair share off the plate and was topped by two rows of sliced banana, one row with a layer of homemade rich french chocolate topping (as I cannot call it icing, it was just that delicious). 4.5 stars

So that is that for my critique today, and my sweet teeth have been satisfied beyond all measure!

Have a good week,

Critical European
